Adem Fehmi
Canine Behaviourist
Adem has worked with dogs for over 20 years, initially on a part-time basis whilst he studied at The Nottingham Trent University where he was awarded his BSc (Hons) Animal Science degree in 2005.
His love and passion for dog training and behaviour modification started from a young age, where as a teenager he worked and learnt about dogs in a busy boarding kennel environment.
Since obtaining his degree in 2005, Adem has worked full-time with dogs, specialising in behavioural and training issues. Adem now divides his time each week between behavioural 1-2-1s (both self and veterinary referred), obedience and gun-dog training 1-2-1s, and the group training classes that he runs at the Dog-ease Training School. Group training classes offered by Adem include puppy training, adult dog obedience, and agility.
On several occasions Adem has demonstrated at the Crufts Dog Show, The CLA Game Fair, and The BBC CountryFile Live Country Show on behalf of the Kennel Club. Adem uses his own dogs to demonstrate and also invites observers to enter the demonstration ring where he problem solves behavioural and training issues live for the owner and audience.
In addition, Adem works with local councils to assess and train dogs. He is also available for seminars, which are often run at the Dog-ease training school in Hertfordshire. Adem also enjoys visiting local care homes and hospitals with his PAT dog Yogi, as well as helping others to achieve the same rewarding PAT dog qualification and/or work towards their assistance dog status.
Adem’s passion is to help people to understand their dogs and to help dogs to understand their humans. With his intuitive ability to read dogs, Adem’s modern approach and way of explanation helps to bridge the communication gap between owner and dog.
