Anne Browning
Canine Behaviourist
For 48 years Anne has lived, studied, and worked with dogs and their owners, ‘that’s a lot of dogs and a lot of behavioural problems’, and she still loves every minute of her work.
She started her career back in the seventies working in breeding and boarding kennels. She prepared dogs for the show ring, showed, and run ring craft classes.
Over the years she taught a great many basic pet obedience and agility classes.
In the 80’s and 90’s she competed and judged in agility all around the country, in mini, midi and standard dog sections.
For 40 years Anne has also been a dog groomer of all breeds, including show preparation, hand striping and cat grooming, but unfortunately due to back problems and arthritis in fingers, she has now had to give up the grooming.
All her adult life she has owned multiple dogs, which she says has taught her so much about dog body language and the needs of dogs living in our society.
Anne has trained her own dogs as therapy dogs; they are a very important part of her behavioural team. These dogs are specially trained and extremely effective when working with dog- to- dog aggression and anxiety problems. This allows her to assess the type and degree of reaction your dog may have, so she can determine the best method of rehabilitation.
Anne works hands on with dogs and owners, demonstrating the techniques and making sure the owners can accomplish the required results. Regular weekly follow- up sessions are recommended, to give continued back up help.
Anne runs her Shrewsbury based business ‘Roann’s Dog Therapy Team,’ which deals with all types of behavioural problems working directly with owners in their own home or local area. Please check out website for details.
Dog body language workshops available on request.
Roann’s Dog Therapy Team now host a Free information service at Dobbies garden centre in Shrewsbury, Shropshire on Thursdays, to meet and help local dog owners with anything doggie.
Anne has also written two books on anxiety issues in dogs and how they can affect owners.
