
Christina Cass
Canine Behaviourist
Christina has been working in the rehabilitation of difficult dogs professionally now for over 15 years. Along with her husband Steve, a retired Mounted Police Officer and horse trainer, they own The Dog Woman Training Academy in Glasgow.
Christina is a Master Trainer with the Guild of Dog Trainers, the resident behaviourist at The Pet Empawrium, Scotland’s first all-inclusive pet centre, and the referral practitioner for Champion Vets Scotland. Along with her full time rehabilitation work, Christina manages a team of professional Dog Handlers, who run her thriving day-care facility within the centre. The 30 strong day-care pack, provide a constant learning platform and are a vital cog in the rehabilitation wheel.
Christina believes there is always something new to learn and considers continued professional development absolutely paramount to her role as Behaviourist and Training Instructor. Although she maintains at least 45 hours a week hands on experience, she is obsessive in her work, and studies for at least a further 10 hours, to keep abreast of scientific and ethological advancements continually bettering her technique and understanding. She also places huge importance on human psychology as well, to ensure she can better negotiate the gap between the species equation!
