Heather Stevens
Canine Behaviourist
Heather is in an elite class of dog behaviour specialists being a Full Member of the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association. She is also a Certified Training Partner with the Karen Pryor Academy, a Master Dog Trainer Member of the Guild of Dog Trainers, a Registered Animal Trainer with the Animal Behaviour & Training Centre, a Reiki Master, and a Volunteer Assistance Dog Trainer and Assessor for Dog AID
Heather has been training dogs and competing in a variety of canine disciplines since the late 1970’s, and running dog training classes since 1987. She has owned and trained over 100 dogs, including 40 Rottweilers and, through her training classes, has helped more than 100,000 dog owners over the years.
Helping to resolve canine behaviour problems with dog owners for over 30 years, Heather has amassed a wealth of knowledge on solutions to behaviour problems, but continues to attend workshops, courses, and seminars to increase that knowledge and therefore the help she can offer dog owners still further.
Heather’s knowledge and understanding of canine Functional Characters is advantageous when helping owners to better understand their pets, particularly those with aggression issues. This knowledge also benefits the staff at Heather’s dog day care facility, CentreBarks, where they see Functional Characters “in action” every day.
