Kathryn offers one to one training with owners and their canine companions. She specialises in aggressive and out of control behaviour in dogs, and has a vast experience from her background in working private security dogs. She helps owners understand their dogs breed traits, natures and behaviour issues, this knowledge is key to help the owners understand why their dog is behaving a certain way. Once an owner is more knowledgeable then training can fall into place and the bond is rebuilt between dog and owner.
Kathryn is a full time behaviourist, and any behavioural work with dogs is always accompanied by her trained and well-balanced pack of dogs, who consist of German Shepherds, Springer Spaniels and a Staffie x Mastiff. Her dogs aid in the rehabilitation of both former dog aggressive dogs and human aggressive dogs.
She has also shared her life with Belgian Shepherds, Dutch Herders, a Giant Schnauzer, a Cane Corso and Gundog Breeds while rescuing dogs all of whom had human bite histories or dog to dog aggression.
Kathryn is also a member of the Guild of Dog Trainers and the International Association of Canine Professionals. She is also an instructor and trainer for the National Training Inspectorate of Professional Dog Users training both scent detection dogs and security dogs. She is the first female handler to gain her NTIPDU Level 3 GP Security Handler certification and is currently the only handler with two NTIPDU Level 3 dogs. She uses her years of knowledge in working with problem security dogs to aid owners with their dogs. This knowledge has allowed her to turn the lives around of dogs who would otherwise have been isolated from the world or passed from pillar to post.
Kathryn works closely with her local rescue centre, and provides behaviour assessments, one to one coaching for potential adopters and follow up visits in the home. She is also the preferred behaviourist for three other rescues in the area.
