Nick holds a Masters Degree in Canine Behaviour and Psychology with Middlesex University. He has been training dogs since 1995 starting with his own Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizsla, Amber. Nick won his first ever working test with Amber aged 9 months, which inspired him to set up his own full time dog behaviour practice ‘Alpha Dog Behaviour’. He works from his office based in Bewdley, Worcestershire covering the West Midlands and beyond.

Nick maintains a simple philosophy towards dog behaviour and training, and is passionately driven to bring dogs and owners together in a spirit of understanding and mutual respect. Nick offers a calm, positive approach to overcome dog behaviour problems with their pet dogs. He usually works on a one to one basis in the client’s home or out in public if the dog’s behaviour problem occurs outside. There are no limits to the dog behaviour problems that Nick is asked to address.

Nick takes great care to build the clients confidence by understanding the techniques and methods required to ensure the best outcome with their dog’s behaviour. Nick provides a hands on, professional approach to his work and this has enabled him to create a busy practice that thrives on a good reputation for customer care throughout a programme of behaviour modification for the dog. Nick is always at hand from the start to finish on every case and purposefully keeps his workload manageable to enable high levels of care and guidance throughout the process. As a full member the Canine and Feline behaviour Association, Nick is able to work through your pet insurance company thus enabling you to reclaim your fees where possible. Nick is also a Master Trainer with the respected Guild of Dog Trainers.

Nick also works as an expert witness in court and legal cases under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and the Dogs Act 1871 following instructions by clients, legal practices, welfare organisations, the police and courts. Nick works in cooperation with Police Dog legislation Officers, kennels and legal professionals bringing a practical yet professional spirit to his work, and is himself an ex police officer.

In addition to Nick’s day to day role as a dog behaviourist, he is pleased to write for Dogs Monthly magazine as a dog behaviour expert answering reader’s queries. He can also be heard on local BBC radio covering topics in the news or answering listener’s dog behaviour questions.
