Rosie has been passionate about working with all animals since a very young age, after rescuing and owning an aggressive dog during her childhood it inspired Rosie to focus on Dog Training and Behaviour. On leaving school she attended two Animal Care Colleges to achieve The National Certificate and National Diploma in Animal Care both at distinction level. She also received the IAMS Award and Student of the Year Award on completion of her work. During this time she gained experience at many animal establishments from Vets, Rescue Centres, Pet Shops, Kennel and Cattery work, a Zoo and a local Dog Training establishment. It was here, she was fortunate enough to get a full time job on completion of her studies and worked for over five years. Rosie became competent in running Training classes from Puppy to Adult, Obedience Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme, Agility, Clicker and Heel Work to Music. She learned to Groom, Walk Packs and carry out Training Consultations. As well as giving demonstrations, group presentations and judging at several local dog shows.
From here Rosie went on to work for a few years as an NVQ Assessor at a previous college and enjoyed the new challenges of teaching grooming and assessing students working towards their NVQ’s and Key Skills. She furthered her education and gained her NVQ 2 & 3 in Animal Care, Assessors Award, PTLLS Teaching, Level 2 Intermediate Certificate in Dog Grooming, Animal First Aid and Dog Handling as well as several short courses. She also worked very closely with the Greyhound Board of Great Britain and had an excellent insight into the Greyhound Racing world.
Rosie currently owns and runs her successful small business of approximately 13 years, Walk with Rosie. This has given her the opportunity to work with an extensive range of dog breeds, characters, personalities and temperaments. Rosie offers Training Pack Walks, Grooming (often referred to for difficult dogs) and Behaviour and Training sessions – in the home and out in the field.
Rosie’s most recent studies have been with the Cambridge Institute of Dog Behaviour and Training, she has completed:
- Breed Specific Behaviour 2021
- The Complete Canine 2022
- Advanced Common Canine Behaviour Problems 2023
She is currently working on The Bespoke Dog Aggression Workshop.
She has achieved Full Membership of the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association.
Although she has been privileged enough to have her own beloved canine family members since her childhood ones, at present she does not have any dogs of her own (she has two tortoises). However she is lucky enough to have an extensive canine family in the dogs she works with, many on a daily basis.
Rosie strives to make sure she is offering her very best of this care and knowledge to dog owners so they can get the best out of their pets and their pets have the chance to be happy and relaxed in their homes, also to keep current and up to date in an ever changing and challenging canine world.
