Having been brought up around dogs from an early age I have always had a keen interest and understanding of them. I have always been surrounded by various animals and have a keen interest in horses and riding too which has stayed with me into my present age. I now own three dogs of different breeds who help me with my work in the rehabilitation of dogs with aggression issues. They are also working dogs during the shooting season picking up and flushing on local shoots, which gives them the opportunity to exploit their natural tendencies and instils discipline in an extremely distracting environment.

After leaving school I was offered a place in a local boarding and breeding kennels where I gained vast experience in dealing with all types of shapes, sizes and breeds of dogs. Of course dogs in a strange environment can behave differently that they would at home so it taught me how to be aware and deal with them sympathetically whilst in our care. Some were not always very friendly towards the kennel staff!

I later went onto have my family and decided after they became more independent to pick up on my dog related pursuits by attending and completing a course at a local agricultural college. Here I took a National Certificate in Animal Care with a view to veterinary nursing and kennel and cattery management where I achieved a distinction. Through this I attended work placements in vets, boarding and rescue kennels which sparked my interest in the more challenging cases. I then went onto complete and Advanced Award in Dog behaviour covering Dog Development and Animal learning theory. Whilst doing this I began working alongside a local Dog Trainer starting from teaching puppy classes to older dogs until starting up on my own dealing with more difficult dogs which I have done for the past 8 years. I have since become an Associate of the CFBA and completed a course in Dog Aggression for which I have a particular interest.

I now run groups for dogs with little or no training, rescue dogs, 121 lessons for the more challenging dogs and home visits and strive to help owners have a better understanding of their dogs needs therefore creating a more harmonious relationship.
