Rebecca Norton-Childs

Rebecca is a training provider, end point assessor, dog breeder, trainer & behaviourist working in Shropshire. Basically, her life is all about dogs and dog education.

Rebecca has over 25 years experience working as a licensed dog breeder, being an ex-licensing officer she has worked with several rescue centres to rehabilitate and re-home dogs of all breeds.

In more recent years her skills and knowledge have been crafted into education and Rebecca provides online training for breeders, pet professionals and owners through her education business Pupstarts Breeders. These include Ofqual regulated courses in:

• Level 3 Certificate and Diploma in Dog Breeding, Litter Socialisation and Welfare.
• Level 2 Award Principles of Puppy Socialisation
• Level 2 Award in Canine Body Language

Rebecca developed a strong interest in dog behaviour and training and she formalised her own learning with an Advanced Higher Certificate in Canine Behaviour and Training (Professional Practice), through the CIDBT.

Breeding and working her team of Labrador Retrievers, Rebecca is passionate about dog training, enrichment and scent work. She has trained dogs to an operational level in wildlife scent work detection and for gun-dog work.

She owns several dogs, including Labradors, Terriers and her side kick Sally, a German Wirehaired Pointer, affectionately known as "Knickers". Rebecca says she will leave you to work out why she has that name!

Rebecca is a woman committed to changing the relationships between dogs and their humans using a 360 degree approach, incorporating dog ethology, genetics, health, training and behaviour.
